NEW FOR 2017: We will have 2 DIY Fermentation Stations where you can make four different fermented foods throughout the day on YOUR schedule. This new and improved hybrid of our DIY Pickle Station and Fermentation Station Stage allows you to see more talks, spend more time with exhibitors, and still have the opportunity to learn hands-on how to make your own ferments.
12:00PM: Spicy, Heirloom Tomato-Olive Oil Salsa - Combining Santa Barbara Farmer’s Market summer bounty with local olive oil, fermentation fanatic and Screamin’ Pickle Contest record holder Lisa Valantine has another winner! Stop by, roll up your sleeves and join our champion to make your own highly coveted jar.
1:00PM: Four Thieves Sauerkraut! - A delicious, aromatic, herbal kraut with ancient roots in herbal medicine. Uri Laio of Brassica and Brine will share the secrets of his signature kraut with you while you create your very own jar!
2:00PM: Zucchini Pickle Chips! - Too many zucchini in your garden? Want to make pickles but pickling cucumbers are expensive & hard to find? Karla Hart-DeLong of Mountain Feed & Farm Supply expertly demos the ins and outs of making successful fermented pickles using the friendliest of vegetables - zucchini!
3:00PM: Citrusy Kefir Water Soda! - Treat Your Taste Buds... Heal Your Gut with Master Fermenter and Real Food Devotee Monica Ford using local limes and mint!
