Festival Highlight: Bacteria Buddy Program

Festival Highlight: Bacteria Buddy Passport Program

Who: Future Bacteria Farmers, 4-12 years old

What: A passport program that will teach the kiddos the importance of bacteria to our soil, our food, our bodies and our environment and inspire them to cultivate and preserve these beneficial bugs any way they can. They will have the opportunity to see bacteria up close and personal, get their hands into some ferments, hear stories about fermentation and traditional foods, and taste test a variety of cultured and fermented foods.

Where: Throughout the farm - at booths, in the fields, around the pollinator garden, under the Mulberry tree

When: check in at 10:45am, 11:45am, 12:45pm, and 1:45pm - tours leave on the hour and last one hour so you can explore a talk, demo, or taste your way through our long line-up of vendors.  Stop by the Bacteria Buddy Passport Booth near the festival entrance for more information and to sign your child up for a passport slot.

How: FREE - kids 12 years and younger get free admission to the festival.

Why: To cultivate the next generation of Bacteria Farmers - and because who doesn’t want to become a certified Bacteria Buddy?
